ASSOCIATE MARKETING MANAGER , MIT Press (MITP) , to coordinate the logistical and creative aspects of marketing MITP books and journals to individuals, independent booksellers, and librarians. Will collaborate with the advertising and digital marketing, exhibits, and publicity teams on promoting these products through online and offline marketing content. Responsibilities include collaborating on the planning and execution of multichannel campaigns promoting books and journals (may include researching Press books' and journals' content, developing copy and reviewing it with stakeholders, and coordinating design and distribution); planning and curating marketing content on mitpress.mit.edu and direct.mit.edu; working with the catalog manager on the seasonal catalog; coordinating the distribution and collection of marketing questionnaires; working directly with authors to convey marketing plans, optimize their contacts, and exploit resulting marketing opportunities; contributing to robust marketing/promotion plans for each book and select journals; communicating integrated plans to editorial staff; creating review lists for books and coordinating the distribution of review copies; writing copy for and distributing customized research releases for select books and journals; organizing outreach to key independent bookstores to ensure MITP's reputation in that channel is strong; occasionally accompanying editorial and marketing staff to conferences/meetings across the country and acting as a Press representative; meeting with customers, authors, and editorial staff; maintaining knowledge of catalog and communicating the mission of the Press; and performing other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in a related field; at least three years' communications experience; experience with sales support systems and tools, e.g., (PRH) MyHouse, Edelweiss, Salesforce, etc.; and excellent written and oral communication skills.
