Non-profit membership association located in Bethesda is seeking a Membership and Marketing Director.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include membership recruitment and retention, membership services and supporting various committees and other projects
Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a membership recruitment, retention, and engagement strategy, including the development of corresponding materials and communications
Develop and implement marketing initiatives that support growth of products and services across the organization
Support various committees (e.g., annual planning, routine meetings, monitoring progress)
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on issues relating to the membership database, membership processing, data integrity, etc.
Supervise several staff
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, marketing or related field
Minimum five (5) years of proven membership experience at a senior level; association experience preferred
Proven success developing membership messaging and marketing materials
Experience with a variety of association based technology systems such as AMS, CMS, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven project management and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines and plan accordingly, factoring in how to accomplish cross-departmental tasks in a busy environment
Ability to understand internal association operations and work collaboratively towards goals; good team player
Interest in understanding the membership and what has worked effectively for retention, recruitment and marketing and how to leverage further growth
Sound judgement with time management skills for self and others; ability to prioritize work and multi-task
Attention to detail and processes is as essential as attention to the overall objectives and goals
