Senior Marketing Specialist - (170000WS)
University of Maryland Baltimore Frances King Carey School of Law is currently seeking a Senior Marketing Specialist. The selected candidate is responsible for the marketing of Maryland Carey Law. Develop, present, implement and manage marketing strategies to achieve marketing goals that effectively align with the law school's mission, consulting with others as appropriate. Work with the school's leadership and other stakeholders to maintain and enhance the school's reputation at the state, national and international level. Develop systems to collect and maintain knowledge concerning the legal market as required by changing market conditions. Analyze market data and marketing campaign performance. Reports to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Communications.

Design, present, and collaboratively implement strategic marketing campaigns in print, electronic, and other formats to promote Maryland Carey Law and its departments, programs and centers.
Create and implement brand identity in the marketplace. Have oversight responsibility for the Maryland Carey Law's website during the transition to a new web framework and after the transition, making strategic decisions concerning our online brand and Web presence. Coordinate with the school administration, instructional technology staff, web development staff, and campus communications staff on design and implementation of the School's websites.
Design and coordinate email campaigns, including newsletters, event invitations, and one-off marketing emails on a regular basis.
Monitor and grow school's social media strategy and presence. Monitor events at the law school and/or news related to law school students, staff, faculty, and alumni and post on social media and/or on website.
Monitor and analyze audiences and the performance of website, social media, and marketing efforts. Produce reports and analytics, evaluate efforts, and make recommendations to increase efficiency of all campaigns. Conduct ongoing analyses of market data and performance in enhance development strategies.
Design, implement, and manage capacity-building tools for the law school and law school departments, including but not limited to e-mail templates, marketing templates, registration templates, and social media scheduling. Manage all software related to marketing efforts, including procurement, subscriptions, rights and accesses, training of staff on use and best practices.
Manage department budget. Determine allocations within advertising budgets. Evaluate marketing opportunities and make recommendations. Generate proposals, contracts and other documents to secure business. Negotiate terms and conditions with some latitude.
Provide oversight and final editing for law school communications output in various formats. Draft stories and news items for the web and print materials.
Develop systems to collect and maintain knowledge concerning the legal market as required by changing market conditions. Analyze market trends.
May perform related administrative duties.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or Business.
Three years of experience in marketing, communications, public or client relations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of best practices in the field.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Attention to detail and ability to follow-through on tasks independently.
Ability to conduct negotiations and gain agreement from interested parties.
Skill in PC applications especially photo editing, publication and web content.
Knowledge of practices and new ideas in the area of marketing social media.
Knowledge of the market for legal education and mindset of populations potentially interested in legal education.
Knowledge of traditional and emerging avenues through which to market legal education products.
