Marketing & Communications Department Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for creating and executing strategies and tactical marketing efforts that will drive increases in key success metrics for Owen's academic programs or functional departments including: Awareness; Interest and Inquiries; Visits; Event/program registration; Applications (both quantity and quality); Reputation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing Strategy and Oversight · Work with Program Partners and the CMO to manage annual planning sessions with program partners/department heads to articulate objectives and develop an integrated marketing and communications plan—strategies, tactics, timeline and budget—to achieve those goals. · Continually seeks ways to help programs improve performance and acts as a "value-add" consultant to bring news ideas and opportunities to the table. · Monitor key metrics in real-time to understand effectiveness of efforts, factors that may be impacting performance in order to adjust and or leverage tactics as appropriate. · Conduct marketing research to inform decision-making. Client Services and Project Management · Develop an effective, collaborative partnership with assigned program partners and department heads to ensure seamless integration of the sales and marketing efforts. · Supplement program partner staff in executing sponsorships, tie-ins and event marketing, as necessary and as time permits · Act as liaison to represent program partners/department head's interests and accomplishments in school-wide communication efforts, including but not limited to: Vanderbilt Business (alumni publication), Inside Owen (community email newsletter), Public Relations Story Pipeline, and social media. · Develop and communicate project plans and timelines and ensure that all players know their roles for seamless execution. Creative Development Develop creative briefs for marketing campaigns that capture salient points that will drive creative content and execution of the campaign. Provide editorial insight and control for marketing materials required to execute campaigns, including—but not limited to: · Sales brochures · Direct response communications—email and direct mail · Web copy and graphic presentation · Advertising—digital and traditional · Video and interactive presentations · Social media and online communities Secure and supervise internal and external resources needed to execute creative work—copy, design and art production services, marketing agencies, prospecting list services, lettershop and mail services, email marketing services, media buying services, etc. Ensure that the Vanderbilt/Owen Brand is effectively and consistently applied across all communication channels and tactics—advertising, sales collateral, website and interactive/digital/video communiqués. Operations Management Ensure that effective processes, systems, procedures and reporting mechanisms are in place to ensure seamless implementation and measurement of marketing strategies, tactics and campaigns. Areas of focus to optimize operational efficiencies and effectiveness include but are not limited to: · Project Management System · List purchase and deployment · CRM systems—Slate, MyEmma, Pipeline Deals · Digital advertising—campaign landing pages, tracking, forms · Websites · Content management and inventory—printed materials, signage · Photography and Video Sessions · Event support · Identify, establish, and train program partners/department head in systems and processes that empower them to implement repetitive tactics and
