Towson University is accepting applications for an Associate Director of Admissions Communications and Visit Experiences. This position will collaborate with leadership to establish the communication flow to reach the university's student recruitment objectives. This individual will support university recruitment objectives by planning, developing, managing, tracking, and regularly reporting status of admissions communications throughout the recruitment cycle for undergraduate and graduate students. They will coordinate with campus partners to formulate and maintain a tactical calendar of admissions communications. This position will also work with the University Admissions Leadership Team to develop and implement on-campus visit experiences for prospective students and families including campus tours, open houses, and other visit options. The person in this position will also directly supervise staff members whose specific roles involve our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and all visit experiences. This person will also serve on the University Admissions Leadership Team.
Develop and manage the execution of admissions communications to prospective undergraduate and graduate students, their families, high school and community partners. Manage CRM, run reports, and present data regarding communications flow. Analyzes available internal and external (market and industry reports, surveys, etc.) data to guide communication development and optimize effectiveness. Develop and implement strategy and practices for all on-campus visit experiences (tours, open houses, special visits). Directly manage staff with specific roles in the CRM and for on-campus visit experiences. Collaborate on social media posts and responses with Enrollment/University Marketing. Manage the current University Admissions students assisting with social media. Manage relationships with 3rd party vendors and name buys (CollegeBoard, ACT, etc.). Manage content on Admissions web pages and edit pages throughout the recruitment cycle mirroring communication flow. Collaborate with campus offices and departments to develop content for emails, social media posts, web content and on-campus visit experiences. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications on paid advertising campaigns, admissions publications, videos, web and social content.
Bachelor's degree and five years of higher education or marketing experience. The position requires excellent communication skills. Must pay attention to detail and possess strong organizational skills. Understanding of audiences, competition, and differentiation. Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive enrollment plans. Agility with data and results-driven endeavors. Hands-on experience with CRM tools (especially Salesforce), email automation software, and social media. Experience collaborating with marketing teams. Comfort level interacting with and presenting to senior management, faculty, and external stakeholders. Highly organized self-starter who takes ownership and requires little guidance. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Positive can-do attitude, flexibility, initiative, and ability to thrive as member of team. Willingness to accept constructive criticism and direction. Strong interest and passion for higher education. The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, interested in and attentive to cross-cultural communication and someone who actively contributes to the office welfare in a high volume, fast-paced environment. The familiarity and use of technology is critical to the success of this position and the overall operation.
